    • Stallman: I hope so. But perhaps what I'll do is just live a life of ease working a little bit of the time just to live. I don't have to live expensively. The rest of the time I can find interesting people to hang around with or learn to do things that I don't know how to do.
    • Do you know about being with somebody? Wanting to be? If I had the whole universe, I'd give it to you, Janice. When I see you, I feel like I'm hungry all over. Do you know how that feels?

    • Northern California, San Francisco and vapid south, Its nice living indaw city, only wish I could afford to go out more.
    • Massachussets . I moved there when the ground was frozen but I can see why people want to live there: its pretty, but then America's huge and its mostly beautiful. Now that I dont live there anymore I really do miss the whole New England Vibe.

    • The lush Gharwal hills of Uttarkhand, on the foothills of the Himalayas, I loved wandering around in my two aimless pilgrimages to Badrinath.
    • Pune: The only Indian city I'd like to live in. I stayed in Baner, with a view of the hills, and an easy access trek route to Pashan.
    • Pilani: "Rohtak, Rohtak, Rohtak, P'Lani". Subtract the bus ride and the academics and you find that Pilani's a nice town after all.
  • Pictures
    • I don't own a camera and maintain that almost all "point and click" artists are kooky. AND I'm all against people capturing chunks of my soul in photographs.. BUT heres a neat Pic of Brett and me that Rilla took at tent rocks in Fall 96. She was shooting for her photo-1 project and actually printed this out herself. I couldn't resist scanning this one in. (That was one weird trip with those massive fertility symbols looming around.)

No, they wouldn't let me call my machine robolove. Its just resnet126, and Its a kickass pentium with a T1 connect to the internet in my bummed out dorm room at UNM, `slackerville', surrounded by dirty socks, empty coffee cups, and broken code. Its got 64megs ram, an S3Virge video card, and an awe64 soundcard that lets me mix and edit music, make MP3s, and plays my CDs on a boombox. It doubles as a stroboscope at night.

I fried a lizard in july 96. I dont remember why. My grandmom was cooking at that time and was pretty upset she couldn't use the oil anymore.
I like the count chocula cereal boxes. They're so trippy. I hate the name "Scott". Sometimes I wonder what would happen if steve became president and all human life, and 2000 years of civilization was all wiped out by 2002. I don't know. Its not that I don't care. Its just there are too many issues involved. besides there are people that like beat the shit out of you and claim "Were on a mission from Rob". Rob is evil. If you ever get the chance to punch rob in the face, you should. Its good karma.
Yes this page has unreadable fonts, and a crappy background gif. Its my way of telling the world: I'm no lone locust of the apocalypse. Thats Zorak. Life is overrated. It isn't really, but the hypocrisy makes it out to be. there's no feeling. its just words. I'm a failed artist that does computer science instead. Actually I'm a chemist and CS seemed easier than to push the frontiers of knowledge in pure science.

What harm has killing little animals ever done you? I'm vegetarian. I don't eat anything that screws. I killed a roach once and had bad luck ever since. I felt bad about killing it. Now I go out of my way to kill roaches it scares people. I don't like roaches. When steve or someone nukes the planet, they get to live, while you and I just die. I'm a student of evolution. I'm a student of what it is to know and what it is to follow a rule. ``Maybe I know what it means to "define reality."'' Wittgenstein knew what it was to follow a rule and he was gay. Someone said intelligence is just storage and speed of recall and none of the intuitive shit that mensans postulate. I think it was penny. But then Penny is a psycho nutcase. I don't know wtf intelligence is. But I value abstraction and respect minds that have the ability to do it. But people that can abstract can still have closed minds too. Most people have closed minds. Those are excellent things to lose. Don't buy underage kids beer though. It just contributes to their delinquency.
So progress and re-evaluation are important, but then what is progress. Maybe evolution is progress enough. But there's a flaw: there is no measurement in that definition, so its useless. Vonneumman has got to die. I don't know how but vonneumman has got to die. Jon was not human but some alien with superior "intelligence". The architecture is all we base all computing on, but unless it dies, the next big step will not happen. biological, quantum, I don't care. Just find another way to compute, damnit, or we're doomed to be stuck with chess programs that'll just keep getting faster and better and still chess programs. Von neumman died a horrible death. Eckhert and Mauchly invented the modern computer.
I spend way too much time in front of the monitor.I'm almost always idling on #lisp or hanging out in the unhealthy and hostile environment of group 1 on ICB. Leo foresees a computer jihad. Maybe some scenario like we make a new selfreplicating entity that wipes us out. Software is living, Information systems Living systems, I buy Dave's speel. But mostly whats going on here is evolution. More like living systems Plus Information systems to make one bigger whole. Were a long way from there. People who can do stuff they once did better faster etc are still the same people, and they most definitely aren't. Technology like facilitates the entities to do other stuff. Which is cool but I don't know where its heading and I'm not sure I'm interested in trying to shape or control it. One because its stupid to try and Two because thats what society is there for. But computer systems both hardware and software are so prone to fuck ups. I prefer software. Its an art. I like the way writing software exercise the brain. It helps figure out the working of your own brain. Using software is a different matter. So many things can go wrong and do. I'm not even sure I like computers, maybe I just find them easy because of an aptitude or maybe when growing up I found these systems more tractable than other realworld systems, or maybe I just had adhd and was not diagnosed, and thats why people thought i was different. i don't know. Thats not why computers are going to ruin your life though. You'll find out why. Everybody comes to learn at their own pace, according to their own realities, education is so important so: Don't panic. This is a computer. This is a mouse. The computer is your friend.
The Education System on the other hand is largely a joke. Religions all about social structures and people control, and social structures are self preserving entities. And almost all things seem to boil down to sociology and supply and demand. Even if the problem is just one of how to pass time pleasantly. Although it may still be important to understand how to run a successful software business.
I once had a dream I was in hell. It wasn't scary and monsters and stuff, more like groundhog day. It took me a while to figure out I was in hell. Hells like the sameold sameold, and you start again trying to do something, different setting, different people, but the underlying Thing is the same. I ended up in this room and a door would open and I'd get out and do stuff until I got killed. Then you end up in the darkroom. And you know what has happened. Then a door opens, sometimes to a hill, sometimes to a corporate office, but you're stuck in the shit again, and you forget all the Experiences you've had before until you wind up in the room again, thats when you feel the futility of it all. When I woke up I realized this was what the scriptures were talking about in the endless cycle of birth and death. But I wasn't even thinking of all this when I fell asleep.
I could never lead a revolution. My attention span is too limited to focus on that. Besides I don't want to. However, I smashed a 23' xterm once. We're going to throw an 82 compaq off the third floor as soon as jason can checkout his fancy lenses from UNM. We were going to make ceramic heads of people and blow them up, in the field, photograph it and say this is performance art, but since Heater bailed, interest waned. If someoneq asked me what is it you'd really want to do. I told em that if someone asked me what do you do, i'd want to be like yeah I arrange clouds for a living, I work the midnight shift but thats OK, cause the moonlight makes em look nice, The arranger of clouds.
